So yea... Awesome weekend, all around. Lucky for me, the weather was quite pleasant everywhere... EVEN Detroit! Slammin! Detroit is gearing up for the Superbowl and my hotel was the ESPN headquarters so it was pretty cool... all the techno jumbo going on in there at their media hot point. The Superbowl press laminates are pretty neato too. P Diddy, Paris Hilton, Tommy Lee, were all advertised as having parties or hosting them. All the big whigs will be there this coming weekend. Apparently tickets are going for a mere $2,000 for the game so if you have a couple'o'g's,yo, and need something to do with them, why not bust the nut on a ticket to the game. Oh, then you will need 4-5 hundy for the hotel... most are sold out already. And lastly, 550 for P Diddy's party. Thats the VIP admission. Regular shmo price is like 375. Good times! Bling bling, beyatch!
I know I have said this before... MANY MANY time. But sheesh. I really do love California. It's one of my favorite places in the country. I truly love the state. There is fair weather, beautiful landscapes... healthy foods... Just plain good times. Santa Barara was a blast too. Brown Pelican traditional breakfast was a smashing success and we had the copziest of cozy rooms with the complimentary upgrade from heaven. Our room had a firreplace in it right next to the bed. It doesnt get any better than that, eh? :)
Ahhh, Caleeeforneeea! Arny's state! I love this place, I swear to you. I really should move here. *sigh*. I was born here and I belong here. :) So last night I played in downtown LA at a small bar for a techno party and it was really fun. When was the last time there was a techno party in Los Angeles with people screaming... and not just geeky Richie wannabees and drunk adrenalin junkies! There were women dancing too! Slammin! And today, hmm... I guess I will take yet another two block walk to the beach today and maybe go for a bike ride. And I have a friend out here, Smitty, who acutally lunches on the beach daily and then goes for an evening bike ride up to Hermosa beach (15 miles) and has some brews with pals. WTF! I hate these people for the lives they live! LOLOL. A little jealous, yes. :) So, I am off to enjoy! Tonight its Santa Barbara where Smitty and I will continue our morning tradition the day after the gig- Brunch on the beach at a place called the Brown Pelican. Ahhh. Literally we go to a restaurant on the beach for brunch... and thats what people who live there do every day! grrr! :) Then, its back to LA for another night in the Venice Beach hotel before I go to Detroit to bring the fury! :) Ta ta!
Wow! Little rock Arkansas! Yea buddy! so I am here in the hotel with Tommie Sunshine and a crew of promoters, etc. We have been reminiscing quite a bit telling funny stories about everything from Brazil to getting robbed in AR. I am not sure if I have a funny story to disclose just yet but I will find one tonight. Its always a pleasure to play with the old friends... which reminds me that Freaky Flow is here tonight too and we are all staying at the same hotel, and dining at Benihana. Good times. Aight. Oh, other news... I am moving Sunday. Yes, I am bit psycho for being out of town right now but I will have a few more hourse to pack before the Sun am move so... whatever. ololol
OK, it's official. I love the new Doves album. I know its not that new but Ive been listening to it over and over again for days! :) I know, I'm a dork. It rocks, though.
Speaking of rockin..... Minneapolis ROCKED this Friday. I played at Euphoria and it was such a good time... very intimate feel as I played in the back room of a 3 room venue and it was fun fun fun! Thanks to all who were there yelling and screaming and dancing their asses off! Hope to see you again WHEN IT"S WARMER! ;)
And now...?... we got the cold weather in Philthy. Booo! Did I mention lately how much I enjoy the real estate gig during the week? It's really fun!
I sincerely hope a few of you have bought my new record, Heresy. :) More later. ta ta!
Bbbrrrrr. It certainly is cold here in Richmond, VA and that sux because we are further south! So my friends Mike, Deann, and I flew ourselves down there for a gig in a small spot. It was a really good time and the flying was possibly the highlight! So much fun! I flew most of the trip!!!! I'm really excited about getting my license. I can't tell you the freedom you experience going to the airport in northeast Philly at 4:30pm and just jetting out of the state in a matter of minutes to an amazing sunrise. It's also a great way to clear your head. Today we are continuing our flight plan heading further south to winston-salem, nc to visit my grandpop. I'm really excited about that and especially in how we is also a pilot and used to fly himself all over the place too! :) More later on the flying stuff!
PS This pic was when I took lessons in Alaska because we cant upload the pix from this trip yet.
